 God's Character

The question of God’s character is vital to each and every one of us…seeing that we are totally dependent upon Him for our survival. God’s character is what motivates His actions… and His actions are what determine our total welfare and future. Whether or not God can be trusted is revealed in His character.

Centuries of misinformed speculation regarding God’s true character have caused great confusion, delusion and disappointment for our human family…leading people to question "why?" "Why did God allow that to happen" or "Why hasn’t God answered my prayer"? Understanding the true character of God resolves the "why" questions once and for all.

The summary of God's character reveals this…

"God simply can do nothing wrong or that is harmful in any way to His creation".

The motives behind all of God’s efforts toward our human family are those where our absolute, best interest is His supreme will. Ethical purity and moral perfection stand tall as traits of our Creator’s character.

The first descriptions of God’s character are...
compassion, mercy and grace.

Another trait of God’s character is... love

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16

Love is one of those words overused and misused. The Greeks had three different terms for it…Agape, Eros and Phileo. "Eros" love is sexual love. We hear that one used a lot. Eros is never mentioned in the Bible. "Phileo" is friendship love…something like how brothers and sisters love each other. "Agape" is "Godly love"…the kind of love God has…true, genuine love. It would be facetious for anyone to try to describe "agape" love …for this kind of love can’t be taught, it can only be experienced.

 Prayer

Father, send your Holy Spirit into our hearts,
to direct and rule us according to your will,
to comfort us in all our afflictions, to defend
us from all error, and to lead us into all truth,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

 Family

Ephesians 5:21-6:4 KJV)
(21) Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. (22) Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (23) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. (24) Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so {let} the wives {be} to their own husbands in every thing. (25) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (26) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (27) That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. (28) So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. (29) For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: (30) For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. (31) For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. (32) This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. (33) Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife {see} that she reverence {her} husband. (Ephesians 6:1) Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. (2) Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) (3) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. (4) And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

 Pray To Forgive

Father, I don't want to forgive.
Change my will. Make me willing
to forgive, and then give me the
power to forgive. In Jesus Name
AMEN.

 Prayer For The Church

Gracious Father, we pray for your holy Church. Fill it
with all truth, in all truth with all peace. Where it is corrupt,
purify it, where it is in error, direct it, where it is
wrong, reform it. Where it is right, strengthen it, where it is in
want, provide for it, where it is divided, reunite it, for the sake
of Jesus Christ thy Son our Savior. Amen.
